We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Sous Chef to join our fantastic team at Uppingham School, Rutland.

The successful candidate will assume responsibility for all food production across breakfast, lunch, and dinner service from one main kitchen and support with any planned ad hoc hospitality requirements throughout the year.

As a Sous Chef at Aramark UK, you will be part of a dynamic team that is passionate about delivering exceptional food and service to our customers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Effective and efficient food production in line with recipe sheets
  • Cooking and prepping food for students each day, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, along with any other ad hoc requirements
  • Full knowledge of all menu items served
  • Management of production to ensure minimal wastage
  • Maintenance of food levels throughout all service periods
  • Maintenance of food quality and brand standards
  • Ensuring the maintenance of high hygiene and health and safety standards in line with Aramark requirements and identifying any anomalies and incidents
  • Capturing and recording all volumes consumed and overproduction
  • A good knowledge level of Allergens and Natasha's law
  • Assisting in the compilation of all shift opening and closing checklists
  • Discussing ideas or improvements with line manager
  • Acting as a trainer/coach for new team members to learn procedures and standards for all kitchen tasks
  • Undertaking relevant training as required

Requirements:

  • Experience operating as a Chef
  • Organised with a hands-on ability and strong work ethic
  • Passion for people and food
  • A full UK driving licence
