Senior Practitioner Psychologist

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Practitioner Psychologist to join our team at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Psychological Therapies team, you will be responsible for providing leadership and expertise in the assessment and treatment of clients with complex mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individual and group evidence-based interventions for people with severe and enduring mental health difficulties.
- Lead on team formulation and contribute to the development of trauma-informed, therapeutic cultures within our services.
- Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure effective care planning and delivery.
- Supervise and support junior staff members, including psychologists and other mental health professionals.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of evidence-based interventions and therapies.
- Represent the Trust at local and national levels, promoting the work of our Psychological Therapies team and contributing to the development of best practice in mental health care.
We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:
- Post-graduate doctoral level training in applied psychology, including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, and two or more distinct psychological therapies.
- Professionally registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health Professions Council (HPC).
- Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients across a range of care settings, including outpatient, community, primary care, and inpatient settings.
- Doctoral level knowledge of research methodology, research design, and complex, multivariate data analysis.
- Experience of teaching, training, and/or supervision.
- Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course, presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity.
- Experience of representing psychology within the context of multi-disciplinary care.
- Knowledge of guidance and legislation in relation to mental health.
- Knowledge of the theory and practice of specialist psychological therapies in specific difficult-to-treat groups.
