Job Description

Deepsea Technologies UK is seeking a skilled Asset Inspection Engineer to join our team in Bromborough, Wirral. As an Asset Inspection Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our mechanical offshore equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct goods in, first off, in-process, and final inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Perform in-process inspections of mechanical offshore equipment at supplier premises, requiring travel.
  • Process and approve supplier-submitted manufacturing record books (MRBs).
  • Review MRBs for approval before submitting to clients.
  • Evaluate supplier MRB submission performance to improve process effectiveness and supplier rating.
  • Raise quality-related documentation, such as RCCA reports, as required.
  • Audit, process, and link inspection reports to the DTUK database for outsourced inspections.
  • Perform final release inspections of mechanical offshore/subsea equipment.
  • Program and plan calibration processes to ensure all items remain in calibration.
  • Witness in-process testing and review applicable paperwork upon completion.
  • Process non-conformance reports (NCRs) where QA/QC are required.
  • Assist the Supply Chain team with vendor expediting visits.
  • Produce relevant KPIs and metrics as needed.
  • Conduct detailed dimensional final inspections using handheld measuring equipment.
  • Perform pre-release inspections and create relevant records.
  • Discuss and resolve problems with key departments (Engineering, Production, Projects, Supply Chain).
  • Participate in and implement the results of risk assessments, COSHH, and improvement actions.
  • Report daily progress, issues, and concerns to the QA/QC Manager, assisting in their duties when required.
  • Complete inspections in our UK facilities.
Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Minimum HND qualified in a relevant field or equivalent industry experience.
  • MRB auditing experience.
  • Experience dealing with non-conformance reports.

Desirable:

  • Basic Metrology training.
  • FARO arm use.
  • CSWIP 3.2 Welding Inspection.
  • NDE PCN level 2.
  • NACE Coating Inspection qualification.
  • Overhead travelling crane operation.

The ideal candidate will have previously worked in a mechanical inspection environment with a good working knowledge of NDT and DT techniques, as well as a good understanding of basic welding principles. This role will be site-based, but applicants must be flexible and willing to travel to inspections, mostly within the UK but some overseas. A full UK driving license will be advantageous.
