HGV Technician Job Description

Role: HGV Technician

Location: Richmond, North Yorkshire

Employer: Platinum Recruitment Consultancy

Salary: £46,000 + Overtime and bonus (£62,000 OTE) + Good benefits

As a HGV Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of specialist HGV Class 1 Heavy Equipment Transport vehicles for a leading MoD contractor in Richmond, North Yorkshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified HGV Technician to work with a reputable company that operates a fleet of heavy equipment transport vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair HGV Class 1 vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes and tire rotations
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with HGV vehicles
  • Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure all vehicles are properly maintained and repaired
  • Participate in military training and exercises as a sponsored army reservist

Requirements:

  • Fully qualified HGV Technician, City and Guilds or NVQ level 3
  • Experience across a wide range of commercial vehicles and equipment
  • No more than 6 points on your licence. C + E class 1 licence is beneficial
  • Medically and physically fit to meet the Army training requirements
  • Previous military experience desirable, but not essential. Serving Regulars or Reservists are strongly encouraged to apply

What We Offer:

  • Basic Salary £46,000 + earnings of £62,000
  • Mileage allowance paid to and from work
  • All overtime paid at enhanced rates
  • 44 hour standard week Monday to Friday
  • Overtime and army reserve bonus will boost earnings to c£62,000
