About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Solutions Architect to join our team at Computer Futures. As a Cloud Solutions Architect, you will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining cloud infrastructure supporting workloads for customers in the UK Government.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft Technical Statements of Requirements: Develop technical statements of requirements for cloud native applications and platform solutions.
  • Define Technical Architectures: Define and assess technical architectures and solutions, ensuring they meet the needs of our customers.
  • Define Business Requirements: Define technical and business requirements, working closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment.
  • Design Technical Solutions: Produce high and low-level technical designs, including operating model designs.
  • Define Security Controls: Define security controls and architecture commensurate with cloud and application security best practices.
  • DevOps and Cloud Expertise: Define and select appropriate DevOps pipeline, process, and tools, as well as high-level coding languages, testing strategies, and tools.
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Architect and support delivery of on-premise virtualization (VMware ESX, vCenter) solutions, as well as IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS public cloud (AWS & Azure) solutions.
Requirements
  • Contemporary Software Engineering: Experience with contemporary software engineering, including the selection and application of appropriate technology and patterns.
  • Consultancy Experience: Any consultancy experience is highly desirable.
  • Central Government Experience: Any central government experience is highly desirable.
  • Team Collaboration: Confidence working in a team developing full-stack solutions.
  • Networking Solutions: Defining, installing, or supporting networking solutions.
  • DevOps and Cloud: Experience with DevOps and the techniques that enable it, including virtualization, containerization, CI/CD, and IaC.
  • Agile Environments: Working in agile environments using methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
  • MOD Experience: MOD experience or related.
