Job Opportunity

Elevation Recruitment Group is seeking a highly skilled Engineering Director to lead the engineering and maintenance strategy for a major UK production facility in Herefordshire.

The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and delivering the overall engineering strategy, including staffing, equipment, budgets, facilities, maintenance, capabilities, and skillsets to ensure the plant meets its targets in safety, quality, throughput, and cost.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive overall plant availability and performance (OEE) to meet agreed levels
  • Implement cultural change within the Engineering function to align with plant goals and support daily, weekly, and monthly operations
  • Develop and review a structure within Engineering that meets the needs of the Plant
  • Collaborate with the General Manager and Senior Leadership Team to produce and deliver a Capital Expenditure Plan that meets strategic requirements on time and within budget
  • Establish Key Performance Indicators to monitor and review the engineering function's performance and efficiency
  • Deliver measurable improvements in the efficiency and effectiveness of the Engineering team
  • Ensure Planned Predictive Maintenance (PPM) schedules are achieved
  • Implement Condition Monitoring to reduce costs associated with secondary damage and unnecessary maintenance and increase machine availability

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in overall responsibility for an Engineering function within a heavy/capital-intensive industry
  • Budgetary responsibility of £2m+
  • Full functional responsibility for engineering within a relevant business/industry
  • Development and delivery of a comprehensive maintenance plan (TPM)
  • Strong practical engineering understanding
  • Evidence of creativity and success in seeking improvements in performance and operational methods
  • Management and delivery of capital projects
