Design Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer to join our team at Prime Appointments in Ipswich, Suffolk. As a Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development of new and existing products, working closely with our engineering team to drive innovation and improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop new and existing products, including all necessary equipment assemblies, weldments, and parts.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation used in the specification, manufacture, assembly, and support of company products.
  • Perform relevant calculations, including Finite Element Analysis of parts.
  • Participate in continuous improvement processes and development.
  • Support and maintain the existing product range.
  • Create and maintain Bill of Materials (BOMs).
  • Oversee and perform prototype machine testing.
  • Provide technical advice and assistance.
  • Create 3D models using Solidworks or similar.
  • Use of the MRP system.
  • Assist with producing technical files and documentation for all directive or legislative requirements.
Requirements:
  • Proficient user of Inventor, Solidworks, or a similar CAD program.
  • Qualification in Mechanical/Design Engineering or similar (ideally degree).
  • Background working with new product development.
  • Knowledge of agricultural or plant machinery.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
  • Knowledge of industrial standards.
  • Experience of Microsoft and ERP Packages.
  • Valid Full UK driving license.
