About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced School Counsellor to join our team at Ark Blake Academy. As a key member of our Safeguarding and Pastoral Team, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one counselling to students from Years 7-11, addressing a range of mental health and wellbeing issues.
  • Work closely with the Mental Health Lead to coordinate in-school support from specialist mental health services, deliver group sessions and workshops, and support whole-school initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with parents/carers, the Designated Safeguarding Lead, SLT, Heads of Year, and other professionals as necessary.
Requirements
  • Post-graduate Diploma or Masters level in Counselling or Psychotherapy, with a specialization in working with children and adolescents.
  • Accreditation with the BACP, UKCP, BPC, or an equivalent recognized awarding body.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Competence in using ICT and a willingness to adapt to new technologies.
