Year 6 Teaching Assistant Role in Croydon

Ribbons & Reeves is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to fill a Year 6 Teaching Assistant role at an inclusive Primary School in Croydon. This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring Primary Teachers, Educational Psychologists, or School Counsellors to gain practical experience working with a pupil with SEND.

Job Summary
  • Initial 1-Year contract commencing September 2024 (earlier starts are possible)
  • Mainstream Primary School in Croydon
  • £480 per week | £96 per day | Paid weekly on a PAYE basis
  • Providing support to a Year 6 pupil with SEND
  • Contract extensions available for those wanting to remain at the school beyond initial contract
  • Ideal role for aspiring Primary Teachers / Psychologists / Counsellors / Wellbeing Practitioners
Job Description

This role will require a motivated, determined, resilient, and dedicated individual who is ready to fully embrace challenge and who approaches set-backs with a positive, can-do attitude.

  • Providing classroom support to a Year 6 pupil as a 1:1 LSA
  • Supporting other pupils at various points in the school day with Autism Spectrum Condition, Speech and Communication Difficulties, ADHD, and Severe Social Anxieties
  • Planning, preparing, and delivering learning activities for individuals and groups of students
  • Monitoring pupils and assessing, recording, and reporting on pupil achievement, progress, and development
  • Building core skills and supporting a strong knowledge base through a tailored approach to the individual needs of the pupils
