Senior Reinsurance Technician

The Role
- Manage all aspects of reinsurance purchased by the Syndicate, ensuring seamless execution and optimal results.
- Collaborate with the Reinsurance close team to ensure quarterly closes are completed accurately and efficiently, adhering to the Syndicate's Procedures Manual.
- Attend and participate in Reinsurance, Claims, Underwriting, and broker meetings to stay informed and provide expert insights.
- Authorize claim and premium transactions on LORS, accurately allocating USM cash entries within the RI System.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the Syndicate's Reinsurance system, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
- Compile recovery statistics as requested, providing valuable insights for business decisions.
- Support the calculation and advice of premium adjustments, ensuring accuracy and fairness.
- Contribute to the calculation and advice of profit commissions due, maintaining transparency and compliance.
- Maintain written records of all substantive conversations with brokers, adhering to the firm's procedures manual.
- Take a proactive role in resolving reinsurance disputes, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Compile information for audits, both internal and external, as required.
- Ability to support the Ceded Re RI recoveries manager in all aspects of the Syndicate's RI processes.
- Capacity to teach and instruct less senior members of the Ceded Re Team.
- Working knowledge of all Non-marine and Marine classes of business.
- Understanding of all Non-proportional, Proportional, and Facultative Reinsurance processing.
- Basic understanding of related Syndicate disciplines.
- Ability to work independently, resolving complex problems with minimal guidance.
- London Market outwards Reinsurance processing experience, preferably gained working for a Lloyds Syndicate or London Market Company.
- Good data analytics experience for internal and external reporting.
