Clinical Psychologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. The successful candidate will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide specialist psychological assessment and treatment to adults with cancer and their loved ones.
Main Duties- Provide highly specialist clinical psychology services to adults with cancer and their loved ones.
- Conduct specialist assessments and develop treatment plans for clients with complex mental health needs.
- Deliver evidence-based psychological therapies, including cognitive behavioural therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy.
- Supervise and train junior psychologists and other healthcare professionals.
- Contribute to the development of the knowledge and skills base within the service by maintaining an active awareness of current developments in psychology and cancer care.
- Work autonomously as a clinical psychologist, taking full responsibility for own work, including treatment and discharge decisions.
- Communicate complex information in a skilled and sensitive manner with clients, carers, and colleagues, taking account of sensory and cultural barriers to communication.
- Assess and monitor risk, drawing up appropriate risk management plans.
- Advise other members of the team and other healthcare professionals on specialist psychological care of clients with cancer.
We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist with:
- A doctoral level qualification in Clinical or Counselling Psychology or equivalent.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist.
- Experience of working as a clinical specialist under supervision at Band 7 for a considerable period of time.
- Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients with complex mental health needs.
- Experience of supervising psychological therapists and providing teaching and training to psychologists and other professional groups.
