About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Performance Optimization Specialist to join our team at Aston Martin F1 Team. As a key member of our Performance Engineering group, you will play a critical role in optimizing the performance of our racing cars and drivers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performance Analysis and Optimization: Conduct in-depth analysis of racing car performance and develop strategies to optimize speed, handling, and overall performance.
  • Development of New Analysis Methodologies: Collaborate with our team to develop new tools and techniques for analyzing racing car performance and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Event Support: Attend all F1 Evolution events at the track and provide technical support to our drivers and engineers.
  • Pre- and Post-Event Reporting: Produce detailed reports on racing car performance before and after each event, highlighting areas for improvement and recommending changes to optimize performance.
  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with our design, manufacturing, and operations teams to ensure that our racing cars are optimized for performance and meet all regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Strong Mechanical or Automotive Engineering Background: A degree in mechanical or automotive engineering and a minimum of five years' experience as a racing or performance engineer.
  • Excellent Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to analyze complex data and develop creative solutions to optimize racing car performance.
  • Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Data Analysis Tools: Proficiency in data analysis tools such as MAT Atlas, vTAG, and Python, as well as experience with lap simulation software and driver performance analysis.
