About the Role:

Our client, a leading packaging company, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias to join their team at their Burscough site. As a key member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of plant and equipment, with a focus on preventative maintenance and fault finding.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and optimize plant performance.
  • Conduct regular maintenance activities, including predictive, preventive, and repair work, to ensure all equipment is functioning correctly.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of contractors, ensuring they comply with site procedures and contractual commitments.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive maintenance records, documenting all work completed and any issues encountered.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in maintenance technology, applying this knowledge to improve plant efficiency and reduce costs.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a maintenance environment, with a strong electrical bias.
  • Sound knowledge of maintenance management systems, including SAP.
  • Excellent fault-finding skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, contractors, and vendors.
  • 17th or 18th edition certification, with the ability to evidence.
  • Apprentice route or time-served experience in a related field.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive hourly rate of £23.95.
  • The equivalent of 277.2 hours of annual leave, including bank holidays.

Selection Process:

A technical test will be conducted as part of the interview process, assessing your skills and knowledge in electrical maintenance and fault finding.
