About the Opportunity:

Randstad is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias to join our team at a leading packaging site in the UK. As a key member of the engineering team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and equipment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical maintenance, with experience in fault finding and resolving mechanical issues. You will be responsible for carrying out preventative maintenance schedules, ensuring all tasks are completed to the highest standard and in accordance with current regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all maintenance activity meets quality standards with respect to workmanship, processes, and procedures to deliver plant quality targets
  • Implement effective controls to manage maintenance costs and deliver plant cost performance targets
  • Support a preventative maintenance strategy by undertaking work of a predictive, preventive, and repair nature
  • Supervise contractors and ensure they comply with contractual commitments and site operating processes
  • Maintain comprehensive maintenance records and communicate as necessary
  • Ensure appropriate training is completed for both self and others to maintain professional and technical skills

Requirements:

  • Sound engineering experience working in a similar maintenance environment
  • Electrical or mechanical apprenticeship with multi-skilled knowledge
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in Excel and Word
  • Experience with autonomous maintenance practices
  • Ability to work well individually and within a small team
  • Strong fault-finding skills and knowledge
  • Experience with maintenance management systems (SAP) is advantageous
  • 17th or 18th edition certification
  • Apprentice route or time-served experience
  • Industry experience
