Functional Skills Tutor

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Functional Skills Tutor to join our team in a prison education setting. As a Functional Skills Tutor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality education and training to adult learners, helping them to acquire essential skills and knowledge to improve their employability and life chances.
About the Role:This is a full-time position, working 37 hours per week. You will be required to deliver a high-quality curriculum, teaching Functional Skills up to Level 2, and work closely with learners to identify their individual needs and develop tailored learning plans.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver high-quality education and training to adult learners, focusing on Functional Skills up to Level 2
- Identify individual learner needs and develop tailored learning plans
- Continuously review learner progression and adjust training to meet their needs
- Prepare, deliver, and review comprehensive lesson plans to address training needs
- Engage and motivate learners to increase retention and achievement
- Five GCSEs at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent), including English Language and Mathematics
- A Degree or professional qualification relevant to the role
- Teaching Qualification (or willingness to gain within the first two years of service)
- Knowledge and experience of current teaching and learning strategies
