Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer Consultant to join our solutions team, to help us grow and increase our expertise in data engineering and Databricks. The role would encompass both the creation of technical solutions, advising on methodologies, and helping upskill the wider department in the better utilization of new technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance to strategic customers to ensure successful implementations on big data projects, from architectural design to data engineering to model deployment.
  2. User Enablement: Help upskill users into Databricks environments, ensuring they have the necessary skills to effectively utilize the platform.
  3. Solution Development: Manage workstreams to create solutions that extract, transform, cleanse, and load data (ETL/ELT), ensuring high-quality data is delivered to stakeholders.
  4. Environment Administration: Help administrate Databricks environments, ensuring policies and conventions are adhered to, and environments are properly secured.
  5. Staying Current: Stay up to date on the latest data engineering trends and technologies, ensuring our solutions remain cutting-edge.
  6. Technical Skills: Possess strong skills in SQL, Python, and DevOps, with experience using tools like Terraform for IAC, and Azure DevOps for CI/CD.
  7. Spark Engine: Have experience with Microsoft Fabric or another spark engine.
