Job Overview

Position: Engineering Manager – Fire & Explosion Safety

Location: Various locations available

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate a team of specialized engineers focused on fire safety and explosion safety, facilitating the creation of DSEAR risk assessments and nuclear fire safety case evaluations.
  • Oversee and guide the analysis processes, ensuring the use of appropriate techniques and templates for technical documentation.
  • Provide governance and leadership for all analysis-related activities.
  • Establish a structured approach for formal reporting on various analysis work streams.
  • Serve as a primary contact for key engineering stakeholders.
  • Guide and supervise proposals for external work packages and review associated documentation.
  • Facilitate workshops and working groups as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain relevant safety plans and project schedules.

Required Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or equivalent capability.
  • Experience with DSEAR and explosion safety assessments.
  • Proven experience in delivery planning and line management.

Desirable:

  • Experience in fire risk assessment and safety case documentation.
  • Familiarity with policy and process documentation.
  • Experience with site fire safety cases.
  • Knowledge of COMAH assessments.
