Role Purpose:

The primary objective is to drive and achieve profitable sales by capitalizing on every opportunity that arises. You will lead, motivate, and manage a team of internal sales representatives to attain success.

The ideal candidate will be focused on developing their career within a progressive and supportive UK-based organization. You will play a pivotal role in the sales and customer service operations, contributing to the broader objectives of the team at Discovery. You should be adept in all facets of selling and cross-selling, with a keen eye for identifying opportunities, while genuinely aiming to assist customers in resolving their challenges. This dynamic role will require excellent interpersonal skills and commercial insight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Serve as the primary contact for the Internal Sales Support Team, overseeing Sales, Customer Service, and Technical functions.
  • Sales Discipline: Promote and exemplify strong sales practices to foster a robust sales culture.
  • Opportunity Assessment: Guide team members in effectively quoting potential sales opportunities.
  • Commercial Focus: Encourage a mindset centered on qualification, upselling, cross-selling, and enhancing the Discovery brand.
  • Sales Direction: Oversee activities across sales, customer service, and technical areas to meet targets and inspire commercial success.
  • Process Enhancement: Identify and advocate for improvements in internal processes.
  • Performance Metrics: Generate and utilize reports to boost team performance and meet KPIs.
  • Customer Relations: Collaborate closely with Customer Services to enhance satisfaction and lead by example in delivering exceptional service.
  • Sales Insights: Leverage analytics to uncover sales opportunities and ensure follow-up.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage with various departments to drive favorable outcomes for the organization.
  • Personal Development: Develop and implement personal growth plans for each team member.

The Ideal Candidate:

Possesses a minimum of 5 years of sales experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership capacity (Team Leader or Sales Manager).

Demonstrates a solid understanding of recognized sales principles and their practical application.

Exhibits excellent people management skills.

Displays strong commercial awareness.

Has proven rapport-building and listening abilities.

Is highly organized and efficient.

Possesses strong questioning and qualification skills.

Exhibits excellent interpersonal skills and is comfortable engaging with customers.

Is resilient and tenacious.

Experience in fluid power is advantageous but not mandatory.
