About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team at Exolum. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply electrical engineering codes and standards to manage deviations and ensure compliance.
  • Lead the design and implementation of electrical systems, including power transformers, switchgear, and distribution systems.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to projects, operations, and maintenance teams.
  • Assure equipment performance standards and manage vendors and tenders.
  • Work with regulations and directives, including DSEAR, EWR, EER, Machinery Directive, PUWER, COMAH, and CDM.
  • Develop and implement electrical system designs, specifications, and standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and scope projects and plant modifications.
  • Manage equipment replacement and prioritize maintenance based on records and conditions.
  • Participate in technical bid evaluations and FATs.

About You

The successful candidate will have a relevant degree in Electrical Engineering, CompEx Design (Ex12), and parts A & B. Chartered or working towards chartership with significant electrical system design experience is required.

You will have a working knowledge of current legislation, including DSEAR, EWR, EER, Machinery Directive, PUWER, COMAH, and CDM. Experience in a COMAH regulated industry, managing ageing assets, training and mentoring site electricians, and working on technical standards committees is desirable.
