Job Title: Construction Project Planner

We are seeking a skilled Construction Project Planner to join our team at Colt Data Centre Services. As a key member of our Major Builds Delivery Team, you will be responsible for managing project planning, scheduling, and progress tracking for our European capital expenditure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain master programmes using COLT DCS standard templates, ensuring alignment with key delivery milestones and customer agreements.
  • Track progress throughout the project, ensuring all critical dates are met and stakeholders are informed of key deadlines.
  • Monitor market conditions, lead-times, resource demands, and regulatory factors that may impact project delivery, providing advice to internal stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective project execution.
  • Liaise with engineering functions, external consultants, and contractors to prepare and evaluate work method planning, optimising the execution plan for maximum efficiency.
  • Regularly visit project sites, maintaining detailed knowledge of the project critical path schedule, verifying progress, and managing complex logistical discussions with contractors and vendors.
  • Review proposed changes for potential schedule or execution risk, conducting analysis, exploring options, and negotiating to refute or minimise potential claims for extension of time or delay damages.
  • Ensure scheduling anticipates preparations necessary for effective and efficient transition into operations.
  • Prepare bespoke schedule reporting tailored to address the needs of investors, customers, and other stakeholders, documenting risks, variations, delays, or potential delays and proactive recovery strategies.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years' experience in construction for a mission-critical industry or recent data centre planning, scheduling, and contract administration experience for at least one entire project lifecycle.
  • Proficient in the use of Primavera P6, MS PPT, MS Excel, MS Project, and PowerBI.
  • Understanding and working knowledge of engineering disciplines such as MEP, Structural, Civil, ELV, IBMS, etc.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive focus on problem-solving, strong organisational skills, and excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to travel at short notice to visit project sites or existing facilities.
  • Minimum qualification of a full-time graduate in engineering from a recognised university or higher, with additional qualification in PMP desirable.
