Job Title: MEP Commercial Manager - Oxford

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced MEP Commercial Manager to join our team at M&E Recruitment Services. As a key member of our Commercial Team, you will be responsible for managing all commercial aspects of MEP projects, ensuring high standards of reporting, risk management, opportunity management, and team management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage feasibility studies to estimate materials, time, and labor costs, engaging all team members from project launch to ensure the best solution is obtained.
  • Act as a single point of contact to fully understand project commercial needs, evaluating different options to fulfill them and propose the best solutions in a reasonable and professional way.
  • Manage cost throughout project stages through to financial close and during construction, remaining the single point of accountability for reporting weekly and monthly commercial reports to the Commercial Manager and Commercial Director.
  • Prepare and monitor all supporting documentation for extension of time and loss in expense claims, in line with the contract documentation.
  • Monitor project variations, project claims, and compile all supporting documents, ensuring all relevant project files are kept updated for review.
  • Minimize cost and enhance value for money for projects, while still achieving required standards and quality.
  • Cashflow to be prepared and monitored for the project.
  • All costs applicable to the project to be monitored, including preliminaries through the approval, sign-off of orders, and reviewing of invoices applicable to the project.
  • Contract administration of the main contract to protect the business's position and safeguard any issues.
  • Administration of Sub-contractors' contracts, to ensure fair and efficient management of Sub-contractor packages.
  • Assess Sub-contractors' application for payments, to ensure a fair valuation in line with the progress on site and with their contracts.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (not essential).
  • Previous experience working on large-commercial projects.
  • Proficient in MS Office, specifically in MS Excel.
