Role Overview:
An exceptional and motivating SEN institution in Haringey is seeking a dynamic and passionate Secondary Special Educational Needs Instructor to become part of their dedicated and enthusiastic team. This role involves supporting students aged 7 to 16 who present a diverse range of learning challenges, including moderate to profound difficulties. A significant portion of the student body has a diagnosis of Autism. Through engaging educational experiences, you will inspire and empower your students to realize their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Secondary SEN Instructor, your duties will include:
1. Facilitating the learning and progress of all students in your class, ensuring equitable access to education.
2. Creating a nurturing, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
3. Delivering innovative and engaging lessons tailored to the unique needs of each student.
4. Acting as a positive role model, fostering a love for learning.
5. Collaborating with health professionals and support staff to enhance student outcomes.
6. Upholding the school's values and ethos in all teaching practices.
7. Participating in continuous professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Person Specification:
Candidates must possess:
- UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Strong academic background, including GCSEs, A Levels, and a relevant degree.
- In-depth understanding of the SEN curriculum and teaching methodologies.
- Creativity and innovation in lesson planning and delivery.
- Experience working with students with special educational needs, either personally or professionally.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
