Job Title: Consultant Clinical Psychologist

We are reducing our full-time working week to 37 hours, with part-time staff's hours adjusted proportionally. This change is reflected in the job advert and any subsequent employment offer. However, some service areas may require temporary adjustments to working hours, with additional pay for up to 30 minutes per week until their rosters or working patterns are updated.

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and experienced psychologist with a passion for perinatal mental health. The Lothian Perinatal Mental Health Service is a multidisciplinary team supporting women, birthing people, and their families from conception to the first birthday. We provide assessment and specialist treatment for those experiencing complex and severe mental health difficulties.

The successful candidate will lead the development of psychological provision for the mental health of mothers and the relationship between parents and their babies. Key responsibilities include managing parent-infant and psychology staff, supervising psychology staff across sister services, and providing training to psychology and multidisciplinary teams. The post-holder will also contribute to strategic developments at local, regional, and national levels.

Requirements
  • Substantial experience working with women, birthing people, parent-infant dyads, and/or vulnerable patients.
  • Ability to demonstrate commitment to delivering a service accessible and respectful to all.
  • PVG membership for the required regulatory group (child and/or adult).

As this is a part-time position, the salary will be adjusted accordingly.
