About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Engineer to join our team at the Automobile Association. As a key member of our data engineering team, you will play a critical role in driving business performance and operational processes through data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Thought Leadership: Develop and implement data engineering strategies to drive business outcomes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of data engineers to ensure project delivery meets time and quality expectations.
  • Data Engineering Capabilities: Develop and enforce data engineering patterns and frameworks to ensure compliance with regulations and risk management policies.
  • Automation and Development: Drive automation and continuous development methodologies to improve data engineering processes.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with data architecture and engineering teams to support agile environment estimations and deliver data engineering solutions.
Requirements
  • Extensive Experience: Proven experience in data engineering within a modern cloud-based architecture.
  • Technical Skills: Skilled in utilizing Databricks, Python, and PySpark, with a strong grasp of modern data technologies and agile project management.
  • Leadership: Proven track record of delivering data engineering solutions, preferably within Azure, and experience in managing a team of data engineers and handling multiple projects.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
