About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Development Lead to join our team at Williams Racing. As a key member of our Software Development organization, you will be responsible for leading the development of cutting-edge software solutions that accelerate car development and drive performance on the track.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of software solutions for aerodynamics design, CFD simulation, CAD automation, and wind tunnel operations.
  • Collaborate with aerodynamicists, CFD specialists, designers, and wind tunnel engineers to craft software solutions that meet the needs of our Aerodynamics team.
  • Act as the bridge between the Aerodynamics group and the technology world, understanding their needs and incorporating them into a clear software roadmap.
  • Strategically and proactively manage a complex software estate, ensuring knowledge sharing and identifying opportunities to simplify and improve our processes.
  • Empower and lead a team of talented software developers, fostering a culture of autonomy and high performance.
  • Foster collaboration with other tech teams at Williams Racing, including Software Development, Data & Analytics, Infrastructure, Enterprise Systems, and Architecture.
  • Champion cloud-native development and lead cloud migration projects.
  • Uphold high standards for DevOps and development best practices.
  • Mentor and develop software engineers, helping them reach their full potential.
Requirements
  • Proven experience of team leadership and software development.
  • Well-versed in agile methodologies and customer-focused development.
  • Ability to specify and plan large projects and track progress.
  • Experience with cloud-native development and cloud migration projects.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
