About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Avove Limited. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for delivering mechanical design content for water industry projects, leading a multi-disciplinary design team, and working closely with clients to ensure their requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop effective concept design solutions that meet project briefs and technical requirements.
  • Undertake a wide range of design work on all aspects of mechanical design and maintenance.
  • Implement innovative and value-for-money design solutions to meet client needs.
  • Maintain high technical standards and ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation.
  • Manage a team of engineers, including senior engineers, engineers, assistants, and graduate engineers.
  • Liaise with clients, site construction teams, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and project delivery.
  • Lead on contract preparation, project planning, and programming.
  • Manage projects, resources, and budgets to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Prepare cost estimates and fees, and ensure compliance with the integrated management system.
Requirements
  • Ability to produce, check, and approve detailed mechanical design outputs for complex plant.
  • Excellent working knowledge of sewage and clean water processes.
  • Ability to develop practical engineering solutions and think outside the box to provide innovative solutions.
  • Good knowledge of civil and electrical works.
  • Ability to produce bottom-up cost estimates.
  • Experience in leading multiple projects simultaneously and managing a design team.
  • Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
  • Ability to travel with occasional overnight stays.
