Design Engineer/Draughtsperson Job Opportunity

HL Engineering Contractors Ltd is seeking an experienced Design Engineer/Draughtsperson to join our team in Scunthorpe. As a key member of our engineering team, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of pipework and structural steelwork projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop bespoke solutions for pipework and structural steelwork projects
  • Attend site surveys to gather information and produce detailed designs and 3D models
  • Work closely with the engineering team to develop and implement design solutions
  • Produce 3D tender models using Autodesk Advanced Steel or similar design packages
  • Participate in tender packages and contribute to design optimization for costs and quality
  • Produce GA and detail fabrication drawings for primary and secondary steelwork
  • Experience working on a variety of pipework and structural steelwork projects
  • Proficient in AutoCAD 2D/3D and able to produce 3D layouts and models
  • Working knowledge of Advance Steel or other 3D software
  • Ability to import/export and insert files from different software packages
  • Experience working with laser scanned data and point clouds
  • Competent in Microsoft Word and Excel for producing documentation and reports
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in pipe work, mechanical engineering, structural steelwork, or a related field
  • Ability to work collaboratively with clients, design engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders
  • UK driving license and willingness to travel for site surveys
  • 31 days holiday including statutory holidays and Christmas shutdown
