About the Role:
We are seeking a Support Worker to provide assistance to a young man with Down Syndrome living in his family home. The ideal candidate will be responsible for promoting independence and supporting the individual in various aspects of daily life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote independence with bus travel
- Assist with making a shopping list and purchasing items
- Support with cooking main meals safely and independently
- Accompany the individual to the gym
- Encourage independence in accessing the community
- Assist with a range of household tasks, including laundry, hoovering, and cleaning the individual's room
Requirements:
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience and understanding when working with individuals with disabilities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
