Job Title: Teacher of Design

Job Summary:

Aberdeen City Council is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Teacher of Design to join our team. As a key member of our education department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality education to assigned pupils and contributing to the professional, corporate life of the school.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver quality education to assigned pupils, developing and implementing engaging lesson plans and assessments.
  • Contribute to the development of the curriculum, ensuring it meets the needs of all pupils.
  • Manage and organize classes, planning and preparing for teaching and learning.
  • Assess, record, and report on pupil progress, informing teaching and learning approaches.
  • Prepare pupils for examinations and qualifications, assisting with administration as needed.
  • Contribute to good order and the wider needs of the school, maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Participate in school and council planning and improvement processes, contributing to the development of education policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and develop knowledge and skills, contributing to the professional development of colleagues, including probationary and student teachers.
Requirements:
  • Appropriate teaching qualification.
  • Full GTC (Scotland) registration in the relevant subject/sector, or eligibility for such registration.
  • PVG scheme membership.
