Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Student Health Nurse to provide high-quality healthcare services to students in our educational institution. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in promoting the well-being and health of students, ensuring they receive the best possible care.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide primary healthcare services to students, including assessment, treatment, and referral as appropriate.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential health records for each student.
  • Develop and implement health education programs and initiatives to promote healthy lifestyles and prevent illness.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, teachers, and parents to ensure a comprehensive approach to student health and well-being.
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide immediate care until additional medical support arrives.
  • Offer counseling and support to students dealing with health-related issues, such as chronic illnesses or mental health concerns.
  • Monitor and manage infectious disease control measures within the student population.
  • Stay updated on current health trends, guidelines, and best practices in student healthcare.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BScN) or equivalent.
  • Valid registered nursing license and registration with the appropriate nursing regulatory body.
  • Prior experience in pediatric or adolescent healthcare is an asset.
  • Proficiency in conducting health assessments and providing basic medical treatments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Knowledge of health promotion and education principles.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems is desirable.
