About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Controls Systems Engineer to join our team at CV Library. As a Senior Controls Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical delivery of projects, working closely with the Project Manager to ensure smooth project progress and meeting budgetary and time-scale targets.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for the technical delivery of projects, ensuring that all technical and quality requirements are met.
  2. Work closely with the Project Manager to identify and manage risks and issues, and to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  3. Allocate tasks to the engineering team and monitor progress, ensuring that all team members are working efficiently and effectively.
  4. Responsible for meeting the technical and quality requirements of projects, and for ensuring that all project deliverables are of the highest quality.
  5. Identify project opportunities and variations, and work with the Project Manager to develop and implement solutions.
  6. Support the Project Manager in identifying and managing risks and issues, and in ensuring that all project stakeholders are informed and engaged.
  7. Identify and enable the use of reusable modules by standardizing and modularizing systems where appropriate.
  8. Develop and implement prototyping of new technologies, and provide training and support to the engineering team.
  9. Mentor and support the development of junior engineers, and provide guidance and advice as needed.
  10. Support the Automation sales and proposals teams, and contribute to the development of business development strategies.
  11. Provide Health and Safety leadership by example, and ensure that all project activities are conducted in a safe and responsible manner.

Main Functions:

  1. Undertake outline design, upfront design studies, and requirement definition for clients.
  2. Develop Functional Design Specifications (FDS) and Detailed Design Specifications (DDS).
  3. Develop test specifications and design testing methodologies.
  4. Develop project modules, including PLC code modules, SCADA scripts, mimics, comms drivers, etc.
  5. Develop site work documentation, including risk assessments, method statements, and site test documentation.
  6. Develop Operations and Maintenance (O&M) documentation.
  7. Undertake full integrated system testing, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and installation.
  8. Undertake observations, variations, and reworks as necessary.
  9. Undertake packing and shipping of the system.
  10. Undertake site installation and retesting.
  11. Provide warranty support as necessary.
