About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Purchase Ledger Executive to join our team at Vermelo RPO. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for providing a professional, effective, and high standard of service to the business, suppliers, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver a High Standard of Service: Build and maintain strong relationships with both the business and suppliers, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience.
  • Aged Debt Management: Take ownership of aged debt and chase authorizers for approval, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing financial risks.
  • Payment Run Process: Complete the weekly payment run process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in processing payments.
  • Supplier Verification and Reconciliation: Verify and reconcile supplier statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Account and Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Perform regular account and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Support the Business: Assist the business in the rollout of purchase orders, training new starters as required, and supporting the development of staff within the P/L team.
  • Adhere to Controls and Policies: Adhere to existing controls and policies, identifying areas for improvement in the control environment and implementing changes as necessary.
Requirements
  • Prior Accounts Payable Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable, with a strong understanding of payment run processes and supplier verification.
  • Purchase Order Systems: Experience with purchase order systems, including Sage Intacct.
  • Strong Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills, prioritizing work as appropriate and working to deadlines and targets.
  • Microsoft Excel and Word: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, with the ability to create complex spreadsheets and reports.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Banking/Cashiering Systems: Knowledge of banking and cashiering systems, including cash handling and reconciliation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous Experience in Purchase Ledger: Previous experience in a purchase ledger role, with a strong understanding of payment run processes and supplier verification.
  • KPIs: Knowledge of KPIs and the ability to track and analyze financial data.
  • Sage Intacct Experience: Experience with Sage Intacct, including setup and configuration.
  • Process Improvement: Experience in process improvement, with the ability to identify areas for improvement and implement changes.
