This role presents a unique opportunity to positively influence the educational journeys of students with special educational requirements.
Position Overview:
In the capacity of a Special Needs Education Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to assist students with diverse needs, enabling them to engage with the curriculum and reach their utmost potential. You will collaborate closely with educators and other specialists to foster a supportive and inclusive educational atmosphere.
Core Duties:
- Contribute to the creation and execution of tailored learning strategies.
- Support students exhibiting challenging behaviours while promoting a constructive classroom environment.
- Work in partnership with teachers, guardians, and other professionals to facilitate student advancement.
- Provide individualized or small group assistance to students as required.
- Track and document student progress, modifying support techniques as needed.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience working with children or adolescents, preferably in a special needs educational setting.
- Capability to manage and assist students with challenging behaviours.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Demonstrated patience, empathy, and dedication to fostering student growth.
- A current enhanced DBS or readiness to apply for one.
