Financial Operations Manager

At The JAQ Group, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our finance team based in Antrim, Northern Ireland. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of our businesses, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:- Financial Operations: Oversee and maintain all financial processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank, fixed assets, inventory, and general ledger, implementing financial controls as required to ensure group compliance.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and deliver accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Stock Control & Analysis: Implement and monitor stock control processes, working with site leaders to provide granular real-time analysis of stock, while striving to improve profitability.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Prepare and contribute to the annual budgeting process and develop rolling forecasts to support strategic planning.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations, including UK and EU VAT, TSS regulations, and corporation tax filings.
- Audit & Statutory Accounts: Manage the preparation of statutory accounts and coordinate with external auditors during the annual audit process.
- Financial Process Improvement: Continuously review and improve financial processes and controls, with a focus on automation and efficiency.
- Team Leadership: Lead and develop a small operational finance team, providing mentorship and support to ensure high performance and professional growth.
- Systems & Technology: Evaluate and implement financial systems and software to enhance data accuracy, reporting capabilities, and overall efficiency.
- ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualified with a strong technical accounting background.
- Relevant experience in an eCommerce, retail, or consumer goods environment, with a detailed understanding of stock control.
- Proven ability to lead and develop a finance team, with a focus on coaching and mentoring.
- Demonstrates experience in streamlining financial processes and implementing best practices.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in Excel for financial modelling and analysis, with experience in using financial software (e.g., Sage, Xero, or similar).
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of financial management.

- Proactively takes ownership and can prioritize effectively, while being flexible to changing demands within a fast-paced business environment.
