Consultant Liaison Psychiatrist in Old Age Psychiatry

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Liaison Psychiatrist to join our team in Old Age Psychiatry. As a key member of our department, you will provide acute older adult liaison services to our wards and associated units.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Consultant input to Inverclyde care homes
  • Support three liaison nurses in their duties
  • Contribute to case-based discussion and local management meetings with other Old Age Psychiatrists
  • Work closely with the Community Mental Health team to provide integrated social and health care services

Requirements:

  • Full GMC Registration and a license to practise
  • Eligibility for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register
  • Higher specialist training leading to CCT or within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview
  • Equivalent training for non-UK applicants

Working Arrangements:

  • Full-time post on a 10 PA basis
  • Opportunity to work less than full-time with up to 2 EPA's available
  • Additional Non DCC (up to 2 PA's in total) for undertaking additional outpatient and/or procedure sessions or management activity

Benefits:

  • Relocation Expenses available
  • Minimum of 1 Core Supporting Professional Activity (SPA) including CPD, audit, clinical governance, appraisal, revalidation, job planning and management meetings
