About the Role:

Glasdon Ltd is seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to join our team in Blackpool. As a key member of our purchasing and stock control functions, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our relationships with worldwide suppliers and ensuring the success of our business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Control of a multi-million-pound stock holding across multiple warehouse facilities.
  • Develop and maintain supplier relationships.
  • Liaise with a wide range of suppliers within the UK and overseas manufacturing sectors.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best possible prices and terms.
  • Provide day-to-day support within the busy Purchasing and Stock Control departments.
  • Liaise with other departments within the company to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Develop and implement demand forecasting and inventory planning strategies.
  • Collaborate with the in-house supply chain team to ensure efficient and effective supply chain management.
  • Process purchasing requisitions and manage stock levels using our in-house commercial system.

About You:

  • You have a genuine interest in procurement practices and a strong understanding of the supply chain process.
  • You possess well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and colleagues.
  • You are self-motivated, confident, and proactive, with a commercial awareness and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • You have good IT, literacy, numerical, and analytical skills, with the ability to work with commercial computer systems.
  • You have excellent attention to detail and are able to work effectively in a team.
  • You hold a University Degree (2.1 or above) and are CIPS qualified or willing to undergo study support towards a CIPS qualification.
