Job Title: Assistant Audiologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Audiologist to join our team at the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As an Assistant Audiologist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the smooth running of our audiology service.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a range of clinical and administrative duties, including hearing aid repair, telephone follow-up appointments, and assisting in paediatric hearing assessment clinics. You will also be responsible for stock monitoring, including management of earmoulds, and may be required to provide a range of clerical duties within the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a hearing aid repair service, including repairing and maintaining hearing aids.
  • Carry out telephone follow-up appointments with adult hearing aid users.
  • Assist in paediatric hearing assessment clinics.
  • Assist in adult balance function testing and be responsible for stock monitoring, including management of earmoulds.
About Us

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides services to West Cheshire and to Welsh patients covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. We work collaboratively within the wider Cheshire and Merseyside Health and Care Partnership. Our services are provided from three locations: The Countess of Chester Hospital, Ellesmere Port Hospital, and Tarporley War Memorial Hospital.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:

  • English and Maths (or equivalent).
  • Audiology Practitioner Assistant Certificate Course (or a willingness to undertake this).
  • BSA certificate in audiometry and tympanometry (or a willingness to undertake this).

We also require a candidate with previous experience of clerical/administrative duties, dealing with the general public, and knowledge of customer relations/service. Knowledge of Microsoft packages and previous experience of working in a hospital would be desirable.
