About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Communications Officer to join our team at the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED). As a key member of our communications team, you will play a critical role in driving our strategic communications initiatives and promoting our work on sustainable development and environmental justice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a compelling communications strategy to promote our work and influence policy and decision-making
  • Craft and edit engaging content for various digital and print channels, including social media, websites, and publications
  • Manage and maintain our social media presence, including creating and scheduling content, engaging with followers, and monitoring analytics
  • Design and host internal and external events, including conferences, workshops, and webinars
  • Provide communications support and training to colleagues and partners
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in communications, marketing, or a related field, with a focus on strategic communications and content development
  • Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different audiences and formats
  • Experience with social media management tools and analytics software
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Passion for sustainable development and environmental justice, with a commitment to promoting equity and inclusion
