We have an exciting opportunity at Selby Hospital during weekdays to support the new CDC service. Weekend duties will involve assisting the Inpatient Echocardiography service at York. We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Band 7 Cardiac Physiologist, with a focus on Echocardiography. The ideal candidate should possess BSE accreditation and have experience in performing transthoracic echocardiography. Our department prioritizes ongoing professional development, with numerous staff members pursuing postgraduate and professional qualifications.

This position is perfect for a Physiologist aiming to advance their career or for those already at this level seeking a new challenge in a community setting. The successful applicant must be capable of working independently and autonomously.

Our department holds BSE accreditation.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for performing TTE unassisted for outpatients in the community referred from primary care through specific pathways. They will also conduct TTE on inpatients during their time in secondary care. Effective triage and support for the development of GP pathways will be essential.

At this level, participation in service management aspects, including quality assurance, service planning, workforce planning, appraisal, and student supervision, will be expected.

We are a teaching hospital with students at various levels training in echocardiography within our department, including STP, ETP, and SpR's.

Qualifications

Essential

  • BSc in Clinical Physiology or equivalent formal specialist training, along with knowledge of specialist procedures acquired through specialist courses or training/experience to an advanced level.
  • BSE TTE adult accreditation (currently holds or has previously held with CPD)

Experience

Essential

  • Relevant post-qualification experience and familiarity with a range of basic and advanced Cardiac and Respiratory investigations.

Desirable

  • Supervisory experience.
