Position Overview
We are seeking a permanent Engagement Officer to join our Directorate of Transformation and Sustainability. This role will play a key part in shaping the development of staff, patient, citizen, and stakeholder engagement across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
As an Engagement Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring NHS Ayrshire and Arran achieves and exceeds its statutory duties and responsibilities for patient and public engagement and involvement. You will work in partnership with staff and stakeholders, both locally and regionally, to support and coordinate engagement activity across the health and social care system.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent knowledge base
- Solid experience within an engagement or communications role
- Experience of planning, delivering, and evaluating stakeholder engagement and communication
- Knowledge and understanding of emerging new methodologies, including digital media
- Highly developed communication and relationship building skills
- Strong written and presentation skills
- Effective leadership, facilitation, negotiation, and influencing skills
- Proficiency in the use of Information Technology
- Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
Desirable Qualifications
Ideal candidates will have experience working in the NHS or similar public sector organization and a good understanding of the infrastructure of the NHS in Scotland.
