Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality cleaning services to our wards, departments, residences, and offices. This will include sweeping, mopping, scrubbing/polishing floors, vacuum cleaning of carpets, damp dusting/polishing furniture, fixtures, and fittings, cleaning of sanitary areas, replenishing paper products, soap, and disposing of refuse.

Main Responsibilities:
  • General Day-to-Day Cleaning: Sweep, mop, scrub/polish floors, vacuum clean carpets, damp dust furniture, fixtures, and fittings, clean sanitary areas, replenish paper products, soap, and dispose of refuse.
  • Periodic/Specialist Cleaning: Shampoo carpets/furniture, change cubicle/window curtains, special/intensive cleaning at supervisor's request, thorough clean of bed, locker, bed tables, etc. following patient discharge, special cleaning of infectious/infected areas (HPV), and window cleaning.
  • Kitchen Duties/Patient Services: Collect in, wash, and redistribute water jugs/tumblers, beverage preparation, collect in dirty crockery, and maintain kitchen cleanliness.
  • Other Duties: Estates reporting, stores ordering, and attending mandatory training and role-specific training as required.
Person Specification:

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Has a basic understanding of the Health Service and an awareness of National Standards of Cleanliness.
  • Can communicate well with staff, patients, and members of the public.
  • Has the ability to deal with unpleasant spillages.
  • Is able to work in various locations throughout the network of services provided by the company/CHFT.
  • Has a willingness to rotate all areas of work within Cleaning Services.
