About the Role

We are seeking three dynamic, highly motivated, and experienced Cardiac surgery/ Cardiology or Cardiac critical care nurses to join our team as trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioners (TACP).

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver excellent care to patients throughout their journey, working closely with other members of the cardiac surgery multi-disciplinary team.
  • Maintain and improve knowledge and skills, and a willingness to educate and develop other healthcare professionals caring for cardiac surgical patients.
  • Develop across the 4 pillars of advanced practice: clinical practice, education, research, and leadership/management.

Person Specification
  • Registered Nurse on the NMC register.
  • BSc Nursing/Science or equivalent qualification.
  • Teaching/assessing qualification.
  • Post-registration study/qualification in Cardiac surgery/Cardiology or Critical Care.
  • Knowledge of Clinical Risk Management and Governance.
  • Audit and research.
  • Leadership/motivating a team.
  • Awareness of national and local targets, NSF frameworks, Policy.
  • Clinical expert within the speciality.
  • Knowledge of the speciality and relevant general medical knowledge.
  • Experience of leading a team.
  • Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience as a Registered nurse in Cardiac surgery or Cardiac surgery intensive/critical care.
  • Experience of working autonomously and as part of a team.
