About the Role
As an experienced Warehouse Foreman in the removals sector, you will be part of a reputable company with a rich history of nearly 150 years in logistics and removals. We are seeking a dedicated individual to enhance and refine our warehouse operations by assessing handling and storage needs, enforcing policies, and developing efficient processes for inventory management and organization.
Key Responsibilities
Your role will encompass various daily tasks, including:
- Maintaining an organized and safe warehouse environment.
- Operating forklifts and conducting daily safety checks.
- Overseeing the warehouse management system.
- Compiling daily defect reports and communicating with the Operations Manager.
- Issuing personal protective equipment (PPE) and uniforms.
- Conducting daily equipment inspections.
- Ensuring timely vehicle servicing in accordance with bookings.
- Promoting and leading health and safety initiatives within the warehouse.
- Assisting with site housekeeping and managing deliveries.
- Acting as a driver or porter as needed.
Weekly and Monthly Duties
In addition to daily tasks, you will also be responsible for:
- Conducting stock takes of packing materials.
- Updating the equipment service planner.
- Overseeing plant and equipment inspections.
- Monitoring the return of vehicle and equipment service sheets.
- Completing weekly workplace inspections and signing off on corrective actions.
- Identifying and addressing hazards.
- Managing onsite waste and ensuring tyre inspections are performed.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Experience as a warehouse operative or foreman.
- A valid Fork Lift Truck license (Counterbalance & Reach).
- Expertise in warehouse management practices.
- A proven track record of implementing process improvements.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills.
- A qualification in logistics or supply chain management is desirable.
- A valid driving license.
- Experience with containerized storage is preferred.
