PhD Researcher: Cellular Trajectories in Senescence
4 weeks ago
We are seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to join our team at the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute. The successful candidate will work on a project entitled "Mapping cellular trajectories in the senescence spectrum" under the supervision of Professor Masashi Narita.
About the ProjectSenescence is a complex process that can be triggered by various stimuli across diverse cellular contexts. Our research aims to gain mechanistic and functional insights into the decision-making process between senescence and tumour initiation within the senescence spectrum. The successful candidate will utilise single-cell biology and epigenomic approaches in close collaboration with computational biologists.
About the RoleWe are looking for a highly motivated and talented individual with a strong background in epigenetic mapping and computational data analysis. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a world-leading research environment, collaborate with a team of experts, and contribute to the development of new research ideas.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research on cellular trajectories in senescence using single-cell biology and epigenomic approaches
- Collaborate with computational biologists to develop new research ideas and methods
- Contribute to the development of the research project and its outcomes
- Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant subject
- Experience in epigenetic mapping and computational data analysis
- Strong background in molecular biology and biochemistry
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
We offer a four-year studentship funded by Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute, including full funding for University fees and a stipend of £21,000 per annum. The successful candidate will also have access to state-of-the-art equipment and training opportunities.
How to ApplyPlease apply via the University Applicant Portal. For further information about the course and to access the Applicant Portal, visit https://www.cam.ac.uk. You should select to commence study in Michaelmas Term 2025 (October 2025).
