Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Surfacing Contracts Manager to join our team at our Head Office. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing the planning and execution of contracts, ensuring financial control and ownership of the works.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the planning and execution of contracts, ensuring timely completion and adherence to financial guidelines.
  • Implement and maintain health, safety, and environmental plans for contracts.
  • Produce accurate financial forecasts and monitor changes to ensure profitability.
  • Liaise with the commercial department to ensure contract execution in accordance with contract mechanisms.
  • Advise site supervisors, subcontractors, and clients on technical aspects of the highways surfacing industry.
  • Effectively allocate and schedule resources for contract planning and programming.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of construction-related supervisory or project management experience, preferably in the asphalt surfacing or highways sector.
  • Higher-level construction-related degree.
  • Management qualification, such as ILM, NEBS, or NVQ4.
  • SMSTS and CSCS certifications.
  • Experience in managing surfacing contracts in the public and private sectors.
  • Knowledge of the NEC contract, including early warning and compensation event mechanisms.
  • Excellent people management skills, with the ability to influence and mentor.
  • Experience with MS Project, CAD, and MS Office.
