Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Surface Chemist to join our team as a permanent, on-site member. As a key player in our enzymatic biofuel cell research and development, you will be at the forefront of innovative technology, driving the development of cutting-edge chemical and biological solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute experiments to optimize bioelectrode performance, identifying the ideal surface coating reaction for maximum energy generation.
- Develop, analyze, and interpret data from electrochemistry and surface characterization experiments, modifying experiments as necessary to ensure reliable and maximum power density of fuel cells.
- Implement electrochemical testing protocols to evaluate the power output of bio-fuel cells, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
- Conduct thorough record-keeping of experimental procedures and laboratory results, adhering to high standards of housekeeping throughout the work environment.
Requirements
- Minimum of an MSc in Surface Chemistry, Nanomaterial Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience, with a demonstrated research record in surface chemistry and interface science.
- Extensive hands-on laboratory experience in surface modification and functionalization of electrodes, including solution coating techniques and biocatalyst immobilization.
- Practical experience in a GLP chemistry laboratory, including log-keeping and traceability management.
- A PhD in a relevant field is highly desirable.
