Role Overview

Utilizing your culinary expertise to uphold the highest standards of food preparation and service is essential in this position.

This role also focuses on enhancing your leadership capabilities while ensuring exceptional service delivery.

As part of a distinguished culinary team, you will engage directly with colleagues to produce meals of the utmost quality. By leveraging premium ingredients and prioritizing locally sourced and seasonal products, you will design and curate menu offerings for various events and occasions.

Although your primary base will be within a prestigious establishment, you will have the opportunity to work at multiple esteemed locations throughout the year.

We strive to maintain a balanced work schedule for our kitchen personnel, which includes shifts during reasonable hours and designated weekends off.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work in close collaboration with the Head Chef and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and the highest service quality.
  • Assist the Head Chef with procurement, inventory management, and menu development, contributing ideas for new or enhanced dishes.
  • Oversee and assist in the daily preparation and production of food for a variety of events and requirements.
  • Mentor, motivate, and guide junior chefs, helping them develop their skills in various cooking and preparation techniques across all kitchen sections.
  • Ensure compliance with health and hygiene regulations through proper procedural adherence.

Essential Qualifications

  • Possessing a City and Guilds catering qualification (or equivalent), you will have significant experience in a high-end catering environment, ideally at a Junior Sous or Sous Chef level.
  • Demonstrated proficiency across all kitchen sections: Larder, Vegetables, Sauces, and Pastry, showcasing your culinary versatility.
  • Exhibit strong leadership qualities, with the ability to inspire, coach, and nurture junior team members.
  • Well-organized, with effective planning and delegation skills.
  • Possess a solid understanding of health and safety standards to maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen atmosphere.
  • Strong communication skills to foster excellent working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Able to excel in a dynamic environment where each day presents new culinary challenges and opportunities.
