We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Apprentice Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at IAC Group. As a key member of our quality assurance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality in our products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve quality issues, providing proactive support and response to customers.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of customer requirements and expectations, communicating effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure requirements are fully understood.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for quality and engineering issues, from initiation to end of life, for customers, internal teams, and suppliers.
  • Project manage product quality and engineering requirements through ISIR, capability studies, AAR, and other relevant processes in support of NPI, APQP, and PPAP.
  • Define, specify, and support the development and introduction of test equipment and gauging to meet quality requirements.
  • Develop and optimize measurement techniques to deliver stable and capable production processes, utilizing SPC and supporting DOE activities as needed.
  • Support design reviews and prototype builds, ensuring that products meet customer expectations and quality requirements.
  • Lead the preparation of Control Plans and support D/PFMEA reviews, documenting output using relevant systems and procedures.
  • Provide training to production teams on customer expectations and quality requirements.
  • Take responsibility for recording, progressing, responding, and closing out customer concerns using 8D or other problem-solving techniques as required.
  • Support supplier APQP and supplier development and improvement initiatives.
  • Manage and report on customer-specific KPIs related to Reject PPM and CAR performance.
  • Conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Support launch activities through PPIR reports, Interim PSW, and alerts.
  • Monitor warranty acceptance rates and maintain response to pallets within identified timing.
  • Negotiate corrections to warranty billing.
  • Manage open warranty projects and maintain zero aged open current model projects.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in quality engineering in the automotive industry, preferably in a 1st-tier supplier role.
  • Degree, HND, HNC, IQA, or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous plastics experience is preferred.
  • Ideal experience with Jaguar and Land Rover.
  • Knowledge of customer and automotive industry systems and procedures, including IATF16949, ISO9001, APQP, PPAP, and others.
  • Strong customer focus and analytical skills with excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Good influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable.
