Job Title: Financial Controller

At Northern Marine, we are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the financial and regulatory compliance of the Company, supporting the Head of Group Financial Compliance and the Finance function.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain the Group authorisation instructions matrix, performing an annual review to ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate and lead Agresso Controls meetings, following up on actions and ensuring timely completion.
  • Independently open new bank accounts as required, ensuring seamless integration with existing processes.
  • Perform an annual review of finance, purchasing, and AP processes, collaborating with document owners to enhance documentation quality.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for finance documentation changes, developing a streamlined change management process.
  • Identify gaps in existing documentation, suggesting recommendations to strengthen finance processes.
  • Assist in establishing new companies, including registering subsidiaries, VAT registration, and related tasks.
  • Attend debtors meetings with the Head of Financial Compliance, taking ownership of minutes and actions, and providing consolidated reporting to senior management.
  • Contribute to the management and reporting of the Group's working capital, including cashflows, inventory policies, debtors, and cash analysis.
  • Ensure the continual improvement, audit, and compliance of key Finance documentation within Qualsys.
  • Support the external audit for UK entities and assist in delivering evidence for other audits.
  • Contribute to ad hoc information requests and projects within finance.
  • Develop relationships with senior stakeholders and company directors.
  • Manage monthly UK company pension submissions, HMRC payments, and finance payroll costings.
  • Assist in annual tax compliance, including submission of corporation tax returns for UK companies.
  • Prepare P11D's and annual PSA for each PAYE reference.
  • Lead project-based work, ensuring teams are focused with clear deadlines and objectives.
  • Assist the finance team with AARO reporting to meet parent company objectives.
