About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at NELFT NHS Foundation Trust. As an Education Mental Health Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work in partnership with schools to deliver evidence-based interventions and support children, young people, and their families.
  • Conduct robust assessments, risk assessments, and care plans to ensure effective support.
  • Use Routine Outcome Measures (ROMS) and clinical tools to gather feedback and guide clinical practice.
  • Collaborate with education colleagues and other mental health professionals to provide comprehensive support.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with schools, families, and community partners to ensure seamless support.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of the HEE/NHSE commissioned 1-year Education Mental Health Practitioner course or Children's Wellbeing Practitioner course.
  • Appropriate registration with either the BABCP or BPS as a low-intensity practitioner.
  • Experience of delivering specific therapeutic interventions to children, young people, or their families (CBT, solution-focused brief therapy).
  • Ability to conduct mental health assessments, risk assessments, and communicate effectively with children, young people, and parents.
